Who is responsible
Home Repair Scotland is responsible for the personal information collected through this website. You can contact us at homerepairscotland2010@gmail.com or 07510 884111.
What we collect
Quote enquiries
Your name, telephone number, postcode if supplied, the service you need, your message, when it was sent and the source page or campaign that brought you to the form.
Customer reviews
Your name, general area, service, rating, review text, publication permission and moderation status. If approved, only your first name, general area and review are shown publicly.
Privacy-friendly website counts
Page views and actions such as quote-form starts, phone-link clicks, WhatsApp clicks, Messenger clicks and before-and-after interactions. These counts do not prove that a call or message was completed. We do not place advertising trackers, create visitor profiles, or store raw IP addresses or full browser identifiers in our business records.
To estimate daily visitors and prevent form abuse, the server temporarily converts network information into a protected one-way code. The original address is not stored in our business database, the code is not used to identify you or follow you across websites, and visitor-level codes are deleted within 30 days.
Why we use it
- To take steps at your request before providing a service, including answering and preparing a quote.
- To operate, protect and improve the website and understand which contact options are useful.
- To publish a genuine review only when you have given permission. You can withdraw that permission later.
- To keep necessary business, security and legal records.
A quote enquiry is not marketing consent. We will not add you to a marketing list simply because you asked for a quote.
Who helps us process it
We use carefully selected providers for secure website hosting, database storage, spam prevention and enquiry notifications. They may process information only to provide those services under their contractual and security obligations. We may also disclose information where the law requires it or where necessary to establish or defend legal rights.
We do not sell or rent personal information.
How long we keep it
- Unsuccessful quote enquiries: normally up to 12 months after the last contact. Enquiries marked as lost are then removed automatically.
- Customer and completed-job records: according to the business’s accounting, warranty and legal record-keeping requirements.
- Pending, declined or withdrawn reviews: normally up to 12 months and then removed automatically. Published reviews remain until removed or permission is withdrawn.
- Anonymous individual website events: up to 30 days before deletion or aggregation. Summary counts may be kept for up to 24 months.
- Administrator security and activity records: normally up to 24 months.
We may keep information longer where a legal claim, complaint or statutory duty requires it, and delete it sooner where it is no longer needed.
Your choices and rights
You may ask for access to your personal information, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, transfer where applicable, or withdrawal of review-publication permission. Some rights depend on the circumstances and the lawful reason for processing.
Send a request or privacy complaint to homerepairscotland2010@gmail.com. We will acknowledge a data-protection complaint within 30 days and respond without undue delay. You may also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.
Anonymous statistics choice
Our first-party website counts are used only to understand and improve this service. They are not used for advertising, profiling or tracking you across websites. You can stop this browser from sending those optional interaction counts:
Completed quote and review totals remain part of the business record even when optional interaction counts are switched off, but they are counted without the visitor-level analytics code. Short-lived abuse-prevention processing still applies so the forms remain secure.
Security
We use encrypted connections, restricted administrator access, individual administrator accounts, server-side permission checks, spam protection, secure data storage and activity records. No internet service can promise absolute security, but access is limited to people who need it and is reviewed when roles change.
Changes to this notice
We will update the date at the top when this notice changes materially. Please contact us if anything here is unclear.
